  • 100 listings: 10-20 minutes

Wait until scraping completes before using Facebook normally.

Dashboard Questions

chevron-rightCan I export my data?hashtag

A: Yes! Data is stored in multiple formats:

  • JSON files: In scraped_data folder

  • SQLite database: In database folder

  • Dashboard view: Browse in web interface

You can copy these files to backup or export your data.

chevron-rightHow do I filter listings?hashtag

A: Use the filter bar at the top of the dashboard:

  • Price Range: Set min/max price

  • Search Box: Search by title

  • Sort Options: Price, Posted, Title

chevron-rightWhat's the difference between Dashboard and Hot Deals?hashtag

  • Dashboard: Shows ALL listings you've scraped

  • Hot Deals: Shows only listings priced significantly below average

Hot deals are a subset of your total listings, filtered by price analysis.

chevron-rightHow often does the dashboard update?hashtag

A: The dashboard refreshes automatically every 10 seconds. You can also:

  • Click refresh button

  • Navigate to different page

  • Data updates in real-time as you scrape

Catalogue Questions

chevron-rightHow many catalogues can I create?hashtag

A: There's no hard limit. Create as many as you need for different searches. Organize them with clear names for easy management.

chevron-rightCan I edit a catalogue after creating it?hashtag

A: Yes! Click the edit icon on any catalogue to modify:

  • Search term

  • Max listings

  • Blacklist terms

  • Break settings

  • Any other parameters

chevron-rightWhat's the difference between single run and endless mode?hashtag

A:

  • Single Run: Executes the catalogue once and stops when complete

  • Endless Mode: Cycles through selected catalogues continuously until you manually stop

Use single run for one-time searches. Use endless mode for continuous monitoring.

chevron-rightCan I pause endless mode?hashtag

A: Yes! Click the stop button to pause. You can resume later, though it will start from the beginning of the cycle.

chevron-rightDo catalogues share data?hashtag

A: No, each catalogue maintains its own baseline for hot deal calculations. However, all listings are stored in the same database and visible in the main dashboard.

Hot Deals Questions

chevron-rightHow is a "hot deal" determined?hashtag

A: A listing is flagged as a hot deal if its price is significantly below the average price for similar items in your catalogue data. HiveFB uses statistical analysis to determine this.

chevron-rightWhy don't I see any hot deals?hashtag

A: Possible reasons:

  • Haven't scraped any catalogues yet (need baseline data)

  • Catalogue has too few listings (need 10+ for accurate baseline)

  • No new listings found since catalogue scrape

  • Prices are all around average (no exceptional deals)

Solution: Scrape a catalogue with 100+ listings first to establish a baseline.

chevron-rightCan I adjust the hot deal threshold?hashtag

A: Currently, the threshold is automatic based on statistical analysis. This may be configurable in future versions. The system uses standard deviation and statistical significance to determine hot deals.

chevron-rightHow accurate are hot deal scores?hashtag

A: Scores are based on statistical analysis of your data. Higher scores (8-10) are more reliable. Lower scores (1-3) may be incorrectly flagged. Always verify hot deals before acting on them.

chevron-rightDo hot deals expire?hashtag

A: Hot deal alerts don't expire, but listings may be sold or removed from Facebook. Check listings regularly and act quickly on high-scoring deals (8-10).
